Public Talk: Writing and Place of 'Writing at Oi! – The Secluded Whales Singing'
Where do writers create and compose? A sensible question that has no definite answer. Sometimes they drop anchor, sometimes they float. Sometimes they stay, sometimes they flee. Sometimes they seek seclusion, sometimes they become the ‘man in the crowd’, transposing diverse city scenes into words and sentences on paper. What will be engendered in a writer, and in the readers they are communicating with, when he participates in a writer residency at a community art space that is somewhere between home and elsewhere? Join participating writer Lawrence Pun on 21 January, as he talks with guest speaker, Mr YAN Pat To ( Theatre Director and Screenwriter), on the relationship between writing and place together and shares his experience of ‘Writing at Oi!’.
